JangoMail Command Center: The Right Tools, The Right Way

In 2011, I quit my comfortable desk job to work alongside my husband, Todd, in his renovation business. Shortly after we purchased our first house flip, Todd had to run to another house and I was left in charge. Despite being married to one of the best home renovation experts, I have absolutely no renovation experience.


During demolition, we encountered hardwood flooring that was glued to concrete slab. I was on my hands and knees with a hammer and chisel for an hour only to get through three feet of this stuff! The task was daunting, to say the least.


Todd stopped by for a cold drink, saw what I was doing and handed me a floor scrapper. He showed me how to use it, and I removed more flooring in one minute than I had in the last hour! Frustrating, yes, but now I had the right tool to get the job done much quicker. Having the right tool to fix any problem makes all the difference, and knowing how to use it the right way is equally important – the same goes for email marketing.

On Track With Jack: Support Pointers

Hi JangoMail Users!

Working hard or hardly working? Today and every day, we are working hard to bring you the best support ever! Our customers are treated like VIPs because, let’s face it, YOU are very important to us!

This week, I have three small pointers from our support team:

 1.  Don't panic. If you forget your password and are locked out of your account, wait 10 minutes and try again. For security purposes we lock all accounts for at least 10 minutes. IP addresses are also locked. If you have multiple accounts and get locked out of one, you’ll have to wait the 10 minutes before attempting to login under any of them. Remember, your safety and security are top priorities to us.

2.  Double check: Double check your campaign settings after you copy a message -especially if you are copying a previous campaign that had a suppression list. Suppression lists are great because you can exclude a group of subscribers from receiving a message. However, if you are copying campaigns, you may not realize that those suppression lists carry over along with the other settings.

When we get a call about this, let’s say a customer is wondering why only 20 subscribers out of 1,000 received their email, we have them check their filter settings first. This typically does the trick, and it doesn’t hurt to double check before you send a campaign. To look for any suppression lists go to the Filtering tab and check/uncheck the box under ‘Select lists’.

3.  The doctor is in. You can troubleshoot specific email addresses with our Delivery Health Check tool which is found under the Management Reports & Tools section of our Reports page. This comes in handy if someone subscribes or even if their email is full.

Enter in the email to diagnose any issues. You can check if the address is correctly formed, if it appears on your unsubscribe and bounce list, and you can view the 20 most recent campaigns that were sent to it. It will also indicate the reason why they did not receive the email. Remember, when someone unsubscribes, they unsubscribe across your entire account, not just in one message but all of your messages.


To recap:  Don’t panic if you are locked out of your account, double check your filter settings, and troubleshoot emails with our Delivery Health Check.

JangoMail is a highly profitable, rapidly growing and successful web-based email marketing system that allows businesses to create, send, and track email campaigns. JangoMail was launched in 2001 and has over 4,000 customers worldwide in a variety of sizes and industries. WHAT WE NEED:

As our resident rockstar Sales and Support Rep, you would be responsible for helping us grow our client base by developing great customer relationships and turning prospects into customers. At JangoMail, we use a customer-initiated sales approach so we're not looking for someone to just coldcall prospects and see who bites - we want someone who has the trifecta of sales experience, customer service excellence, and tech support ability to answer product and pricing questions from prospective clients, demo the product and explain how our features meet their technical needs, and get a trial user confident enough to convert to a paying client. Prospects come to us with interest and questions: you close the sales. Though you don't necessarily need a tech support background, you must be an exceptionally skilled user who can explain the product to new non-geek users, answer questions about technical specs, and help clients understand how our software meets their needs. Our ideal candidate would also have the solid sales background to help guide and improve JangoMail's sales strategies. You can be located anywhere in the country provided you have a suitable home office from which to work.


PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

*Answer customer sales inquiries via phone call and email.

*Explain features of JangoMail to interested parties and proactively demonstrate product value to potential and current customers.

*Develop good customer relationships and increasing brand loyalty.

*Help new customers gain confidence in product use and work to move trial users to paying customers.

*Proactively reach out to current clients about deeper product features to improve their experience and develop product loyalty.

*Identify new potential product features and developments based on customer needs.

*Manage customer requests for upgrades, product pricing, and product overviews.



REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

*Superior written communication. (This is one of the most important qualities when I hire.  You must have a strong command of the English language.)

*Experience using email marketing products and knowledge of email marketing concepts like "open-tracking," "click-tracking," and "deliverability."

*Excellent customer service skills. You can't just be a sales whiz; you also need to genuinely enjoy helping customers and have the knowledge and personality to teach the technology.

*A mastery of Windows and Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Access.

*The more technical and web savvy you are, the better. You need to know the client side of email marketing and have some background in SaaS applications, HTML, and software support or sales. You get the point: non-geek sales people need not apply.

*Amazing multitasking skills paired with incredible organization and attention to detail.

*The ability to lead and carry out tasks independently from a home office. JangoMail is based in Dayton, Ohio, but this particular associate can work from anywhere in the country provided a proper home office environment is available.
